We're hiring
Head of Growth. Own how the world finds and adopts Phone.inc.
Phone.inc is the future small-business phone.
We are looking for a Head of Growth to own how small businesses discover, try, and activate Phone.inc – in close partnership with me as CEO.
15 years ago, I co-founded Firmafon, which today is the biggest SMB telco in Denmark under its new brand Relatel. Later I was VP Growth at Trustpilot. Since then, technology has changed, markets have opened, and I have learned a ton. Now I am on a mission to reinvent what a small business phone product looks like in the age of global infrastructure and AI.
We are building a great team in Copenhagen, backed by initial investment from top European venture capital firms. We are seeking people who are passionate about small businesses and driven to solve our customers' problems.
This is not a classic marketing seat. You will own the full growth loop: product-led acquisition, paid and organic demand, the website, and the path from first visit to an activated customer. You partner with the CEO on our PLG and freemium offering, and you build systems, experiments, and content with the same builder energy as our engineers.
Joining Phone.inc now is stepping into a creative workshop with an almost blank canvas, but with me as a very opinionated conductor. You will have a core role and a significant impact in defining how we grow and bring our product to market in an all-team, collaborative workplace.
There is a real joy in selling to people who are living out the dream of becoming a founder. Our customers are building something of their own. That feeling should run through our go-to-market and our brand – not as a slogan, but as something we lean into with honesty and heart.
We will be a small team, and it's important that you are interested in a broad role. You write, ship, measure, and decide. You do not wait for a brief, a committee, or a playbook from somewhere else. On day one you will not have a team under you – this is an ownership role, not a people-management role.

How we work.
- We are international from day one, both in our own culture and the markets we serve.
- I have a clear picture of our V1 product and how to shave it down to something we can ship quickly. From there, it's a team effort to learn what the market needs.
- I believe everybody, from sales to engineers, should have strong empathy and an understanding of our customers and their needs. We bring this deep customer love into our creative product work.
- We will always have a small leadership team (right now, it's only me) and make decisions quickly.
- We all believe in empowerment and are not limited in what we do by our job descriptions.
- We like shipping fast, but we value simplicity and quality more. It's all a balancing act.
- We are together in the office 2-3 days a week when we are in Copenhagen. We balance high bandwidth and deep work.
How we grow with AI.
Agentic work is how we operate, not a side experiment. We reach for AI first – before we solve a problem any other way. That applies to growth as much as to product.
We think about this from first principles. AI is changing what a small team can learn, how fast we can ship campaigns and pages, and how precisely we can understand activation. That excites us, and we want it to excite you too.
- You are AI native. Agents, models, and automation are part of how you think and ship, not tools you bolt on later.
- You use AI to move faster on research, creative, SEO/GEO, experiments, and analysis without lowering the bar on taste or honesty.
- You build systems: landing pages, measurement, onboarding flows, content engines, ad loops. You are not just a coordinator of agencies.
- You are curious about where this is heading and want to help shape how a company grows in the age of AI.
What you will own.
- PLG and freemium, in partnership with the CEO: the offering, the funnel, and the loops that turn free users into paying customers.
- Paid ads and social: channels, creative, spend, and learning loops that compound.
- Sponsorships and influencer marketing: partnerships that put Phone.inc in front of the right small-business audiences.
- SEO / GEO and our website: discoverability, content, and a site that converts – not just looks good.
- Onboarding and activation: the path from signup to “this phone is part of how I run my business.”
- Measurement and experiments: analytics, attribution, and a cadence of tests that tell us what actually works.
- Retention and expansion: keep activated customers engaged and moving from free to paid.
- The crazy stuff: bold, unconventional marketing that puts us in front of our ICP and makes people talk. Safe and forgettable is not the job.
You lead yourself, pull in the rest of us when needed, and build leverage with tools, AI, and clear priorities.
What we expect.
- You are a builder by heart. You ship pages, experiments, creatives, and systems yourself. Strategy without execution is not the job.
- You are self-driven and self-leading. You set the pace, pick the bets, and own the outcomes without waiting to be managed.
- You bring high ambitions – for the company, for the product, and for your own bar.
- You love our target audience of small business owners, and you are motivated by helping them find and get value from Phone.inc.
- You think in loops: acquisition, activation, retention. Vanity metrics do not impress you.
- You have strong taste in messaging and product experience, and you care that growth and brand pull in the same direction.
- You want to take active part in building a company in the age of AI.
- We expect you to thrive in the massive void of an early-stage startup.
- You challenge us, and want to be challenged, too.
What you can expect.
- Extremely high ambitions, motivation and tempo.
- A fun and creative work environment.
- A senior team with a lot of experience.
- To be building a product that customers love.
- A ton of freedom, but also high expectations on impact.
- Work should not kill you, but fit into your life as a whole person. Everybody on our 3-person team has small kids.
- An office you enjoy working from and where there is a great community (Matrikel1), if you are in Copenhagen.
- We all act as equals while recognising that I am the final decision-maker given my experience in the space and role.
How we communicate.
- We value the high bandwidth we get when we are in a room together; it both motivates us and sparks our creativity. We also value time for deeper work and reflection, which is why people in Copenhagen work from the office 2-3 days a week.
- While we enjoy the high bandwidth of being together, we also value writing. Writing product pitches and other forms of long-form written communication is a core part of how we communicate.
- We are direct in our communication, but always communicate with positive intent.
- We use Slack, but only for social stuff and quick pings. Slack is not where collaboration happens.
Location.
We prefer someone in Copenhagen, working with us in the office 2-3 days a week.
If not Copenhagen, we are open to London, New York, or San Francisco. Remote elsewhere is possible for the right person.
Wherever you are, you need meaningful overlap with Copenhagen working hours, and you need to be comfortable leading yourself across distance. Writing and async clarity matter even more outside the office.
